Yoga & Sound Healing
Practices to awaken your own medicine
Welcome!
I’m Rebecca, a yoga teacher and sound practitioner based in Richmond, North Yorkshire.
I teach both individual and group classes in yoga, and love sharing the joy and peace that yoga has brought to my life.
I want to help people to find balance and joy in moving their bodies, and welcome people with all levels of mobility and experience. I’d love to see you in one of my classes!
I run monthly sound baths, incorporating gongs, voice and various other instruments.
Rebecca's Story
I have been practising yoga for over three decades, and am passionate about its power to provide physical, mental and spiritual healing. I love sharing the empowerment and joy of moving your body, in fun ways that will make you feel good throughout the week – not just in the time you spend on the mat!
Most of us have stressful lives, and modern life can leave us feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from ourselves. Yoga can help us to find balance in our minds and bodies through poses, breath work, and different perspectives on our place in the world.
I became interested in the spiritual side of yoga as a way to deal with a difficult time in my teenage years, and went on to study modules on Indian religion and philosophy at university. Yoga is a way of life, and that is why it’s so powerful – it helps you holistically, shifting every aspect of your being.
I took a foundation course in 2014, and completed my 500 hour Level 4 teaching diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga in 2018. This was a comprehensive and transformational learning journey that advanced my understanding of the different disciplines of yoga, and cemented my passion for sharing them with others.
I have also completed a 100 hour training in Yin yoga. This is a contemplative and slow-paced style of yoga practice, which targets the body’s connective tissue through deep long-held stretches.
I believe that yoga should be inclusive and accessible, and welcome students of all ages, levels of mobility and experience.
I am also a qualified sound practitioner, and have undertaken training in the use of voice and various other instruments for vibrational healing. I trained as a gong practitioner with the College of Sound Healing for a year. I also studied how to use gong flumies with B Love Sacred Sound, and am an accredited flumie teacher.
I was introduced to the power of sound as a child, through my dad’s passion for both traditional sanskrit mantra and an eclectic mix of world music. He had a record label at the time called Nada Pulse, referring to the Indian concept of nada – the vibrations believed to make up the whole cosmos.
The guiding principle of Nada Pulse was ‘self-realisation through sound’, and I take inspiration from this in my name, and in my commitment to the power of sound to transform ourselves and our lives.

Yoga Classes
I have been practising yoga for over three decades, and have completed over 650 hours of yoga training, including my British Wheel of Yoga Level 4 teaching diploma. I love sharing my knowledge about the rich and ancient world of yoga, and supplying my students with the tools to make positive change in their life.
I teach a yoga class each Wednesday at 6.30pm in Gilling West Village Hall. This class is rooted in Hatha yoga, but also incorporates aspects of Yin, Dru, Kundalini and Vinyasa. It is a lovely, friendly group suitable for all bodies and levels of experience.
I also offer one-to-one yoga classes, tailored to the needs and goals of individuals. Email me if you are interested, or for further details to see if this could be right for you!
I will be starting a Yin yoga class in the near future, more details to come! You can register your interest here.
I want everyone to experience the joy of movement, so don’t hesitate to inquire if you have any reservations about your mobility or experience! I am happy to make specific accommodations, and want to promote a fun and inclusive environment.

Sound
Sound Immersion
Each month I run a sound bath, where I use gongs, voice and various other instruments to create immersive and healing soundscapes. These events can also feature additional ritual elements such as drum and sharing circles, and cacao ceremonies.
I am collaborating on a sound immersion with Louise (healingtree.co.uk) on September 3rd in Driffield.
I am an experienced space holder, and can be booked for special events and personal sound baths.
Chant
I also run chant workshops which demonstrate how using your voice can deepen your spiritual and meditative experience. Chant plays an important role in the rituals of many different cultures, and I take respectful inspiration and guidance from Aramaic, Indian, Indigenous and other chanting traditions.
My next chant event will be in collaboration with my father, David Wallace Lawrence, who has practised chanting for over 50 years, and has had direct experience with numerous chanting traditions.
