Mantra & Yoga Nidra Mondays

October 6 @ 7:15 pm - December 8 @ 8:30 pm

Each session we will explore the meaning, relevance and practice of a different mantra from varying traditions. This will be followed by the deep relaxation technique of Yoga Nidra.

Playfully singing mantra as a child with my Dad, I connected to the quality of joy that came from using my voice in a rhythmical and repetitive way . A rhythm and frequency that to me, felt like deep and natural moments of being ‘home’ Nothing has changed, except from a deepening practice and passion to share the experience with others.

We will explore the power of mantra as an audible practice to the inaudible. A process of learning to listen to the sound in the silence. No singing experience necessary . This is not a performance but an internal journey.. connecting you to your deepest self!
This will be followed by Yoga Nidra. Rooted in ancient ‘tantra’ it is a technique developed in the 1960s by Swami Satyananda Saraswati but has since been evolved considerably by people like Uma Dinsmore Tuli . It is an accessible guided meditation technique done in a lying position.
The awareness it brings allows you to drop into a deeper state of relaxation from the physical to more subtle layers of the mind and emotions.
Some of its many benefits include relief from stress, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and emotional and physical pain. It can help with the sense of being ‘blocked’ and bring us into a state of wholeness .
This will be a beautiful evening held at the gorgeous space @phy.sio42 . Pear tree studio in Richmond.
There are only 10 places available.
